online version hier : https://berlinischegalerie.de/veranstaltung/grosses-dada-dings-performance-dada-x-merz/#2026-03-01T18:30:00+01:00 ENGLISH VERSION: Dada x Merz | How Letters Became a Sonata In the performance “Dada x Merz,” musician and performer Florian Kaplick (Edinburgh/Munich) traces the path of an artistic transformation: How did the letters that Raoul Hausmann randomly had printed on posters in 1918 become sounds, and how did his friend, the Merz‑artist Kurt Schwitters, shape them into the legendary “Ursonate” ? Therewith in a way reuniting the two men who knew each other well, but didn’t have a chance to meet again after 1936, when Schwitters left Nazi Germany initially for Norway before in 1940 having to flee from there ...
